Last November
Last November, Team Vasbyt succeeded in an incredible journey and was duly acclaimed with the esteemed Gees Prize. The event started with a seemingly ordinary cycle race though this soon changed when one of the participants encountered a mechanical issue with his bike.
Not wanting to leave his fellow racer.
Not wanting to leave his fellow racer stranded, he found a stick and offered it up as a ‘tow bar’, and together the duo began the extraordinary 21km journey, running, cycling with only one leg and even towing with the stick. Their selflessness and determination to support each other were a remarkable testament to the bond of friendship and camaraderie between them.
The evenings
The evenings saw the racers come together to share stories of their experiences over a glass of wine. It was a beautiful sight and a reminder of why this event is so popular with participants from far and wide. The Gees Prize is an undeniable testament to Team Vasbyt’s character and extraordinary achievement in coming together and succeeding.
